    Not nearly enough

    This is a fair list from Outdoor Life, but not nearly complete. Looks more like a feel-good list for yuppies.

    Things we'd lose in an EMP

    Some things that will not work after a massive EMP:

    * Power Grids
    * Grocery stores / Gas stations
    * All electrical outlets
    * Heat pumps (heating and cooling)
    * Stoves / refrigerators / microwave ovens / televisions
    * Any computer
    * Telephone of any make or model
    * Cars / Planes / Trains / Boats / Motorcycles / Gas stations
    * Banking systems

    A big problem

    If we had an EMP, do you really think the police or hospital workers would be going to work? They're going to be trying to get home to protect their families, just like everyone else. There will be no transportation!!

    You will be on your own.... GET PREPARED!

    scary numbers

    I got this from http://www.adelphi.edu. I have no clue where they got it from, but I'm guessing it's pretty close. These are the ones who become part of the problem.

    Below is a summary of some of the striking findings from our 2012 poll of U.S. adults:

    • 44 percent donít have first-aid kits
    • 48 percent lack emergency supplies
    • 53 percent do not have a minimum three-day supply of nonperishable food and water at home
    • 55 percent believe local authorities will come to their rescue if disaster strikes
    • 52 percent have not designated a family meeting place if they are separated during an emergency
    • 42 percent do not know the phone numbers of all of their immediate family members
    • 21 percent donít know if their workplace has an emergency preparedness plan
    • 37 percent do not have a list of the drugs they are taking
    • 52 percent do not have copies of health insurance documents
